The Jail Division page reports an average daily population of more than 740 inmates, including pretrial inmates and county or state sentenced inmates housed locally.
That local scope is important for Douglas County inmate search accuracy. A person who has bonded out, moved to state custody, or finished a county sentence may not remain visible in the same way. Court records, warrant records, and state offender tools may still show related history after the jail roster changes. Douglas County Inmate Profile Fields
The sample roster inspection on July 8, 2026 returned a total count of 728 and showed several fields that explain how a custody record connects to court charges. The public page configuration exposed name, race, sex, date of birth as age, and arrest date. It also set hold reasons to display, which is where charges, warrant charges, bond type, bond amount, and judge-set-bond notes may appear.

Douglas County Jail Facility
The main jail facility is the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement and Adult Detention Center / Jail Division. Research lists 84 deputies and certified corrections officers in the jail division and a work program with 110 inmates assigned to county crews and kitchen, laundry, and janitorial duties. Jail questions about proof of incarceration, transport timing, mail, commissary, and bond hearings should use official jail contacts instead of the public roster alone.
The Lithia Springs Precinct is not the jail, but it is part of the sheriff's published local contact network. The jail address on Earl D. Lee Boulevard is the correct destination for jail information, detention services, and custody questions. The courthouse address on Hospital Drive is the correct place for bond hearings and many court matters. Mixing those locations can cost time, especially when a family member is trying to confirm a bond hearing, visitation rule, or proof-of-incarceration request.

Douglas County Booking and Bond
After arrest, the jail roster may show the custody side before the clerk's case file shows the full court path. A sample hold reason included a charge code, offense description, arrest date, bonding company bond type, dollar amount, and "Set By Judge." Another sample listed a pending warrant with a warrant number and no-bond entry. Bond hearings occur at the Douglas County Courthouse on the third floor in Courtroom #2, with times listed as 9:00 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
Proof of incarceration must be requested in person at the Sheriff's Office Records Division. Transport timing is not disclosed for officer safety. When a roster charge needs a court outcome, use the Clerk of Superior and State Courts or the prosecutor tied to the case type.
The booking process also explains why a roster can change faster than a court docket. Release, transfer, bond posting, judge-set bond changes, and warrant holds can affect custody status before the public court record shows a final order. Douglas County jail visitation uses different registration paths for friends and family, in-person visits, virtual visits, and professional visits. Contact Douglas County Inmates
Personal inmate mail changed to a digital scanning process effective August 15, 2025. Personal mail sent to the jail after that date is returned to sender. The new personal-mail address is Douglas County, GA; inmate name and booking number; P.O. Box 247; Phoenix, MD 21131. Legal mail, books, and money orders are not sent to Phoenix. Legal mail uses Douglas County Jail, unit number, 8472 Earl D. Lee Blvd., Douglasville, GA 30134.
Phone, voicemail, and messages run through Telmate/GTL and GettingOut. Inmates initiate calls. A call announcement tells the recipient the call is from an inmate at Douglas County Jail and to press 1 to accept. Voicemail can be up to 3 minutes for $1.25. GettingOut messages are internal email that must be approved by the facility before posting, with messages up to 300 characters.
Books must follow the jail's separate rules and should not be mixed with personal mail. Money orders have their own mailing path, and legal mail should preserve the attorney or court-related channel stated by the jail. A letter sent to the wrong address may be returned or delayed. For current instructions, match the item type first: personal mail, legal mail, books, money order, phone account, message, remote visit, or commissary deposit.

Douglas County Commissary Funds
Commissary and money options differ by service type. Credit-card trust or commissary deposits are available through GettingOut or Telmate, with phone deposits at 1-866-516-0115. The Sheriff's Office accepts only U.S. Postal Service money orders by mail. Legacy Commissary Services is the commissary representative Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at 770-920-4972. Gift packs use JailATM by selecting Georgia and Douglas County Jail, then searching by last name or ID.

State Inmate and Registry Searches
Douglas County inmate records do not cover all custody or post-sentence records. Sentenced state-prison, probation, or parole records should be checked through the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query. Sex-offender registry searches are handled by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which manages the central registry under O.C.G.A. 42-1-12. Sheriff pages link registry access, but the registry is not the same as the jail roster.
Use the state systems only after deciding what kind of record is needed. A current jail search belongs in Zuercher. A sentenced state custody search belongs with GDC. A registry search belongs with GBI. A final charge outcome belongs with the court clerk. Those channels can describe the same person, but they answer different questions.
The GBI sex offender registry represents that separate statewide registry channel.
